A life lived creatively is a life lived vibrantly.
Leisa O’Gorman is a self taught artist who began painting three years ago following a trip to Tasmania. There she was inspired by both the artistic scene as well as the beauty of untouched wilderness. Both created a passion for artistic expression and so commenced a journey of creative exploration of our connection to landscape. Leisa works primarily in acrylics and she seeks to intuitively capture the essence of landscape, both physical and internal , with this medium. In 2023, Leisa began showing her pieces in exhibitions and has appeared in the following :

Leisa has recently joined Aspire gallery as a stock room artist where she regularly has pieces available for purchase.
Leisa’s work seeks to intuitively capture the ephemeral essence of landscape. Somewhere between realism and abstract interpretation, her work hopes to convey a landscape which exists beyond time, place and memory. Through subtle use of light and shade, she hopes the viewer is taken to a place in distant memory, a place of transcendent evocation that resonates with their experience, a place both known and unknown. Painting landscapes is a meditative process for Leisa, and each piece is both an amalgamation of stored memories of the natural world and a glimpse into a place beyond landscape, an entry into an emotional connection. She does not work from photographs, but rather allows the painting to unfold intuitively and each piece may have many layers; the result of construction and deconstruction. Painting is almost a spiritual process, the canvas tells her when it is finished.
